May 28, 2012

It is great that the phrase blog floats around the net day in and day out, but what if you have no idea what a blog really is? Is this going to be helpful to your web site? No, not really. Here we will offer the skinny on the phrase blog, and you can decide for yourself if it may or may not be useful in your web pages. This way you will not be wasting your time on something you may not need, and the energy can be put to something you find more useful for yourself.

The term blog refers to weblog and it is in all fashion not a commercial or professional site. It is more of the personal nature, for comment or web site material. Generally the most recent information on a blog is kept at the top of the page, as blog’s are dated log formats. Often they will have commentary of other sites or links directing you to them. Many times the site is dictated by group links and the log is updated frequently. The opinion is this is the very first weblog was back in 1993 it was the Mosaic. This was generally a compiling of links that where kind of disregarded. It took until 1998 for they are to be a mere handful of these so named blog’s in existence. The blogger all knew each other and were swapping the links between each other.

By the year 1999 this term blog was starting to pick up pace, and as a result became a phenomenon. Once it became free to the public, it really took off and was a pastime that was enjoyed by many. Web logs were hand coded by developers on the web before the software became available. The use of html was the main coding for this program, and the web designers at the time were pretty much the only ones that knew it. Now that this new software is available to the general public, anyone is capable of making a blog. The moment blogger was released in 1999 it became a huge success with the public. Now people are not restricted on what kind of weblog they make, fast-forward to the year 2000 and people are making as many as 300-350 new blogs daily. There is actually a directory for all these blogs, and it contains as many as 5,500 entries. This is now a craze with over 750,000 blog users; this was not merely a passing trend obviously.

There are multiple tools these days for the people that are truly interested in blogging, this software can be found online and has become extremely popular. Check out the craze for yourself, and see what you think of it you may just enjoy it yourself.

School Blog

May 27, 2012

Me and my friends want to start like an anonymous blog about our school basicly saying what’s up with who and what’s going on around school. What is a good way to make an anonymous Free website so people won’t know we wrote it. We’re not gonna write anything mean or anything like that. It’s seems like it would be fun. But do you think we can get in trouble? It’d be like denying any rumors, and would have pictures and funny things about our school. Essentially — I use Blogger. Just set up a gmail account, and off you go. The layouts and stuff are super easy to navigate and resembles myspace. I really wouldn’t worry about getting into trouble, you just put up a disclaimer saying that this is an opinion or it’s just “entertainment”, and get away with it. Have fun.

Blog Template

May 25, 2012

I’d often know how to create my own blog template with photoshop and how to upload it? I don’t really want to download one, I’d often create my own. So is there a particular size that I need. Also, do I need to slice and optimize it. Well, I have your answer. Just create a template, then slice it with I’mage Ready. You need to optimize it using the optimize for web feature. If not, your visitor will have to wait longer just to get all the images load. The size depends on what blogging platform you are using. Better get the css code for that blog template and harvest all the information there. All you need is the height and the width of all images.

Add Blog

May 24, 2012

What I want to do is this; For the front page, I’m going to make it a feature page. Also add the blog posts to the bottom of the feature page. Can I do this? If so, what can I do, or what widget can I use? The Theme I’m using is Iblog Pro for WordPress. Thanks. Essentially — Well what your actually wanting to do is typically built into whatever theme your using. Looking at the iBlog Pro theme, most likely each of the sub frames below the featured frame are links to pages? If thats the case, you can get the WordPress Quick Page/Post redirect and point each one of those pages to a specific post. . The way to make a featured post stay at the top (or remain ‘featured&#039 is built into WordPress, just go to Posts->QuickEdit and check ‘mark this post sticky’. Are you looking for a theme more like this maybe??? Where there is a summary post, then a few sub-posts under that one?

Love Blog

May 23, 2012

The LOVE blog consists of ‘Marriage, Relationships, Divorce, Sex in love, all problems linked to love and advices’. On the other hand, the PARANORMAL blog consists of ‘Ghost appearances, Spirits, Magic, Near Death Experhyments, Deathbed visions, Alien and UFO, and all mysteries of the world and universe’. Essentially — The paranormal. Relationship advice blogs are a dime a dozen and they all say the same things. Good paranormal sites are at least interesting. It’s a broader topic with a lot more potential for different information and different stories. You’re more likely to find something you’ve not seen or heard before on a paranormal blog.

Blog Forum

May 22, 2012

I’m looking to create a pop culture/geek website where the main site has features in a blog format. I’d also often put a forum on it, but have it to where the users will have the same account to comment on the blog posts and the forums. So, are there any suggestions for web software or hosting websites that will accomplish this. After speaking to others on the web, I found the answer. I recommend one of these: iPage has the best offer right now. Their standard price is $84/year ($6. 95) but they have a 50% sale, one yr of hosting for $42. 00. Their plan includes: Unlimited disk space Unlimited bandwidth Free domain name Price: $42/year ($3. 50) They have one of the most popular hosting platforms, which currently hosts over a million websites. They’re also one of the oldest hosting companies, founded in 1998. They include a free point & click online site builder so you can create a website without any programming (easily, just by drag and drop) or you could install WordPress (they include easy, one click install from their control panel), choose a theme that you like, and start adding content. They also have a great custom control panel with OneClick installs of all the popular software like WordPress, Joomla, Forums, Chat, Galleries, Online stores and a lot more.

Blogspot

May 21, 2012

Blogspot, known more commonly as Blogger, is a free platform that allows users to create and host their own blogs. It has become quite popular because the service is so easy and inexpensive. But as fun as blogging is, would not it be even more fun if you could earn money from the readers that visit your blog? Many people have learned to monetize their Blogspot accounts effectively, which has enabled them to earn a passive income stream for something they enjoy doing. Here are any tips that will help you join them.

Choose a Niche

The most profitable blogs focus on a particular subject and rarely stray from it. This strategy serves two purposes. First, it gives your blog a consistent appeal to readers who are looking for material on your subject. Secondly, by focusing on one niche you are much more likely to be listed highly in the search engines for the subject. This means that all of the traffic generated to your blog from search engines will be highly targeted and interested in products related to your content.

Find an Appropriate Affiliate Program

If you have targeted the content of your blog correctly, then you will know exactly what types of items your readers will be looking for. A simple search in Google for “affiliate programs” will return a number of vendors who will pay you a commission to sell products on your website. The key however is to find one that offers products related to your blog. Perhaps the most desired is Commission Junction, which literally has affiliations with hundreds of companies across thousands of niches. But no matter which program you signup with, do any research to make sure they can meet your expectations.

Marketing Effectively

There are two primary ways to bring attention to affiliate offers on your blog. You can take the easy route and post a simple banner in your sidebar. This works well with high traffic blogs, but may not be effective with limited traffic. The recommend marketing strategy is to highlight your advertisers within your blog posts. This means reviewing and discussing the amenities of your affiliate products while including links to the products. The ultimate goal is to get readers to click on your affiliate links where they will then make a purchase, and give you commission earning in the process.

Be Creative

Always remember that consumers have become blind to saturation of world wide web advertising. For that reason, the bloggers who are the most creative are often the most successful. Just throwing up any old banner and hoping it will attract shoppers might work once in a a while, but in the long run a little experhymentation can yield extraordinary results. Find ways to make your affiliate offers attractive to readers and you will undoubtedly see the returns.

Blogspot is a fantastic way to build your own web presence without much money or technical knowledge. Of course the whole experience can be enhanced by learning to make money with Blogspot. While nothing will ever replace the value of experhymenting with different offers and programs, following the basic guidelines in this article will help you get started quickly.

Blog Themes

May 20, 2012

If you have absolutely no idea what the theme of your blog should be one suggestion is to look at several indexes of large portals on the Internet and see how they categorize themes and topics. Clickbank at www. clickbank. com provides a good example of what the main topics on earth are. However in general popular blog categories include news, society, culture, politics, religion, ecology, commentary, technology, business to business, art, information, recipes, web site building, humor, how-to, troubleshooting, rants and product reviews.

There are of course some topics that are more difficult to write about and that really do require some credentials or authority. For instance many people are tempted to write about politics, however the problem with writing this type of blog is that you can seriously turn off prospective buyers by maintaining certain opinions. The same goes for religious, medical or technology blogs. The most successful blogs are those who are written by someone who has some kind of expertise about a subject, otherwise you are just another weirdo on the Internet with an opinion.

The idea is to provide expert content on your blog; content that is backed up with research and facts. Remember that you are competing with the real news when you write a blog so it should be as well researched and credit given where credit is do. This means no plagiarizing or paraphrasing other people’s ideas. One mistake that beginning bloggers make is pitching ideas from other sources that are well recognized by readers. Unique information that is borrowed for the purposes of making yourself look brilliant usually makes you look very unethical. In fact the only thing it identifies you as is an expert plagiarist. As a rule of thumb, if you are printing and idea that has been printed before, it is not unique!
